BRILLIANCE OF THE SEA AND HISTORY
ACROPOL & ASCLEPION & AYVALIK CUNDA ISLAND
This is an excursion to the ancient Greek city of Pergamon in Bergama. It was a cultural centre and briefly the capital of Roman Asia. You will see in the Upper Acropolis there is the Library of Pergamon, one of the largest libraries in the ancient world, the steepest Theatre, the Temple of Dionysus, the Upper Agora and Roman Bath’s. In the Lower Acropolis, you will see Gymnasiums, the Temple of Demeter, the House of Attalus and the Lower Agora. Then you will visit the Asclepion or the Sanctuary of Asclepius, which was the first phsychological health centre which was dedicated to the God of Health, Asclepion.
Afternoon you’ll drive to discover Ayvalık with the visit of Devil’s Table,which should be seen overlooks Ayvalık.Then drive to Cunda ısland , also called Alibey Island.You will visit Taksiyarhis Church.The church was built by the Alibey(Cunda) Island Greek Orthodox (Moschonese) community on its old foundations as the Metropolitan Church.In 2011,the church building allocated to the Rahmi M.Koç Museum and Culture Foundation was restored and took its current form.
Another historical texture that you should not leave without seeing during your visit to Ayvalık is the historical mills.There are 3 mills in cunda Island.While one of the mills is used as a restaurant by a private enterprise,another mill is not open to use.The third mill, along with the Agios Yannis Church,eas bought and restored by Rahmi Koç.

• Comfortable walking shoes, comfortable clothing, a hat, sunscreen and insect repellents are recommended. Guests should watch their step at all times in order to avoid accidents.
• Guests must be able to walk approximately 0.5 miles over uneven and cobblestone surfaces in ruins.
• Temperatures can reach extreme highs during summer months; We recommend that you have a lot of water and use suitable sunscream while on the tour.
