HIGHLIGHTS of SMYRNA & EPHESUS
This guided tour takes you round the third largest city in Turkey, Izmir. Here you will see many buildings of historical importance. The Castle of Alexander the Great is built on Pagos Hill which affords stunning views of the city and bay. The Agora of Smyrna is a well preserved Roman market and is now the Agora Open-Air Museum of Izmir exhibiting many artifacts from around the region of Smyrna. The symbol of Izmir is a wonderful marble Clock Tower which stands in the centre of Konak and is 113 years old. You will be taken to the residential area of Karsiyaka before returning by ferry boat to visit Kemeralti, the old Bazaar with thousands of shops. Long Description This half-day guided tour to Izmir begins with the 4th century Castle of Alexander the Great built on Pagos Hill overlooking the city. Nearby, is the well preserved Roman market place, the Agora. This has become the Agora Open-Air Museum of Izmir holding many historical artifacts. The symbol of Izmir is a beautifully carved marble Clock Tower which stands in the centre of Konak Square. It has four fountains round it and is about 113 years old.
The ancient City of Ephesus allows you to imagine what life was like in Roman times in the city. As you explore the site, you will see the Magnesia Gate, Odeon, the Fountain of Trajan, temple of Hadrian and the impressive Library of Celcius. You will discover how both the rich and the poor lived.

• There is no shop visit and shopping in the content of the tour.If the whole group demands and confirm and there is enough time ,the shop can be visited
• Comfortable walking shoes, comfortable clothing, a hat, sunscreen and insect repellents are recommended. Guests should watch their step at all times in order to avoid accidents.
• Guests must be able to walk approximately 0.5 miles over uneven and cobblestone surfaces in ruins.
• Temperatures can reach extreme highs during summer months; We recommend that you have a lot of water and use suitable sunscream while on the tour.
